About SharpDev.Tools
Free tools for everyone. No ads, no tracking, no sign-up, runs in your browser.
The problem
Look up almost any utility online — a JSON formatter, a password generator, a simple tip calculator — and you land on a page smothered in ads, a cookie banner the size of a billboard, three trackers phoning home, and a "sign up for our newsletter" popup blocking the thing you actually came for. Half the time the tool doesn't even work right. The other half it wants you to upload your file to some server you've never heard of.
You shouldn't have to pay with your attention, your email, or your data just to format some JSON.
How this is different
Every tool on SharpDev runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you paste, upload, or type gets sent anywhere. Your data stays on your device — not because of a privacy policy, but because there's no server to send it to.
- No ads. Not now, not ever.
- No analytics, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting.
- No accounts, no sign-ups, no newsletters.
- No "pro" tier hiding features behind a paywall.
- Pages load fast because there's nothing extra to load.
Who it's for
Anyone who needs a utility. Developers use these tools, sure — but so do writers counting words, teachers generating QR codes, small business owners splitting bills, parents figuring out their kid's age in days. If a tool is useful, it belongs here. Free tools for everyone isn't a tagline; it's the whole point.
How it's paid for
There's a tip jar (Buy Me a Coffee) in the nav. That's it. No ads, no sponsorships, no data deals, no VC runway quietly ticking down. If you find the tools useful and want to throw a few bucks my way, it genuinely helps keep things going. If not, use everything freely — that's what it's here for.
How tools get chosen
Two ways: people request them through the "Request a tool" pill on every page, and I build the ones I personally want. Most requests get added within a few days. If something's missing, ask.
The commitment
This is a one-person project. If a tool is broken, it's my fault. If it works well, that's also on me. What's here today will stay here, stay free, and stay ad-free. No bait-and-switch, no "we're being acquired" email in three years. If that ever changes, I'll shut it down before I compromise it.
