The video preview stays on your device. Nothing is recorded, sent to a server, or uploaded. Snapshots are saved straight to your downloads. If you see a black screen, another app may be using the camera, or access was blocked in the address bar.

Frequently asked questions

Is my webcam video recorded or uploaded?

No. The preview runs entirely in your browser and the video never leaves your device. Nothing is recorded or sent to any server. Snapshots you take are saved directly to your downloads.

Why do I see a black screen?

Usually another app (a video call, for example) is already using the camera, or access was blocked. Close other apps that might use the camera and check the camera permission in your browser's address bar.

Why does it ask for permission?

Browsers require your explicit consent before any site can use the camera, which protects your privacy. The camera only turns on after you click Start and approve, and stops when you click Stop or leave the page.
